Our story

Family Touch Repairs & Diagnostics was founded in 2020 as a family-owned alternative to the national repair chains — long waits, mystery fees, parts that never arrived. We built the company on a simple promise: show up the same day, fix it right the first time, and treat people like family.

Years later we still answer the phone ourselves, still carry common parts on every truck, and still back our work with the longest labor warranty in the region.

What makes us different

Same-day service

Call before 11 AM and we’ll be at your door the same day in most of our service area. No 4-hour windows — we give you a real ETA.

Factory training

Our technicians are factory-trained on LG, Samsung, Sub-Zero, Bosch, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, KitchenAid, Miele and more. We don’t guess.

Real warranty

1 year on parts. 3 years on labor — the longest in Westchester, Fairfield and Rockland Counties. If we touch it, we stand behind it.

How does pricing work?

Every quote is given in person at your home — never over the phone. A factory-trained technician arrives, opens the appliance, diagnoses the failure, and writes a flat quote you can review on the spot. You decide whether to move forward, and the price you see is the price you pay.

Licensed & insured

Fully licensed, fully insured, and background-checked. You see ID at the door.

OEM parts

We use original-equipment parts whenever possible — not the cheapest knock-offs. It’s why our repairs last.

Where we work

We’re a regional repair company — close enough to be there fast, big enough to handle every brand. Our service area covers 93 cities across three counties:

  • Westchester County, NY — 41 cities including Yonkers, White Plains, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, Mamaroneck, Bronxville, Scarsdale, Rye, Larchmont and Tarrytown.
  • Fairfield County, CT — 24 cities including Stamford, Bridgeport, Norwalk, Danbury, Greenwich, Westport, Fairfield, Trumbull and Shelton.
  • Rockland County, NY — 28 cities including Nyack, New City, Nanuet, Suffern, Pearl River, Spring Valley, Stony Point and Haverstraw.

What we fix

We service every major household appliance:

  • Refrigerators (full-size, counter-depth, French-door, side-by-side, built-in, wine coolers)
  • Freezers (chest, upright, drawer)
  • Ranges, ovens, and cooktops (gas, electric, induction)
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing machines (top-load, front-load, all-in-one)
  • Dryers (electric, gas, vented, ventless)
  • Microwaves (over-the-range, built-in)
  • Ice makers (built-in, standalone)

If it plugs in or runs on gas in your kitchen or laundry room, we can fix it.

Brands we know inside out

We’ve serviced thousands of appliances across these and other brands: LG, Samsung, Sub-Zero, Bosch, Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, Frigidaire, Wolf, Viking, Thermador, KitchenAid, Miele and Dacor.

Our warranty in detail

Every repair we complete carries a written 1-year parts warranty and a 3-year labor warranty — one of the longest coverage windows in the Westchester / Fairfield / Rockland appliance-repair market. The warranty is tied to the work order, not to a specific technician, so any of our team can return for warranty service.

1-year parts warranty

If a replacement part we installed fails within 12 months, we replace it at no parts cost. Coverage applies to OEM and authorized aftermarket parts we sourced.

3-year labor warranty

If the same component or repair issue returns within 36 months, we return at no labor charge. Most local shops cap labor at 30–90 days — we go to 3 years.

What’s not covered

Customer-supplied parts, damage from misuse or power events, repairs we recommended against, and unrelated issues on the same appliance after the original repair.

How to claim

Call (914) 552-9700 or email admin@familytouchrepairs.com with your invoice number. Warranty visits are scheduled at the same priority as paid same-day calls.

Technician training & specializations

Our technicians are factory-trained on the major residential brands we service. We invest in ongoing manufacturer training, diagnostic-tool subscriptions, and OEM service-bulletin access so we stay current on new platforms, refrigerant changes, and Wi-Fi / smart-control updates.

Sealed-system & refrigeration

EPA Section 608 universal certification for refrigerant handling. Daily work on built-in column refrigeration (Sub-Zero, Miele, Wolf, Thermador, Dacor Modernist).

Pro-style cooking

Specialized training on dual-fuel and gas pro-style ranges (Wolf, Viking, Thermador, Dacor, Miele) including spark modules, igniter switches, gas-valve servicing, and convection systems.

Smart-appliance diagnostics

Wi-Fi and app-connected appliance diagnostics for LG ThinQ, Samsung SmartThings, GE SmartHQ, Whirlpool Smart, Miele@Home, and Dacor iQ platforms.

Premium laundry

Front-load drum bearing, shock absorber, and direct-drive motor work on LG, Samsung, Whirlpool / Maytag, Bosch Axxis, Miele W1, and Asko platforms.

What to expect on a service call

Our service visits follow the same six-step flow on every job:

  1. Booking confirmation. You’ll receive a same-business-hour confirmation with the arrival window and the name of the assigned technician.
  2. Arrival ETA text. The technician sends a 30-minute heads-up before arrival. If anything changes, you hear from us proactively.
  3. Diagnostic. The technician confirms the symptom, runs the appropriate diagnostic (manufacturer service mode, error-code retrieval, electrical test), and identifies the failed component.
  4. In-home written quotes. Every quote is given in person at your home before any work begins.
  5. Repair & test. If the part is on the truck and you approve, the repair is completed on the same visit. The appliance is fully tested before we pack up.
  6. Invoice & warranty. You receive a written invoice listing the work performed, parts replaced, and the 1-year parts / 3-year labor warranty terms.

Our service standards

The standards we hold our team to on every job:

  • Background-checked technicians. Every technician sent to a customer’s home has passed a background check. ID is shown at the door on request.
  • Insured for in-home work. We carry general liability insurance and can provide a COI for any property manager or building requirement on request.
  • Floor protection & cleanup. Mats, drop-cloths, and shoe covers are standard. We leave the work area cleaner than we found it.
  • OEM-first parts policy. We use original-equipment parts whenever they’re available. We disclose if an authorized aftermarket part is being used and why.
  • Honest deferral. If a repair is not economically worth doing — older appliance, repair cost approaching 50% of replacement — we tell you in plain language so you can decide.
  • In-home written quotes. Every quote is given in person at your home before any work begins.

Languages we serve

Our team handles service calls and customer communication in English and Spanish. For other languages, we work with your preferred translation app or a family member on speaker — tell us at booking and we’ll plan accordingly.
